Dawsie Bears Birthday

Turning 10 Dawson requested Camping on his birthday - double digits, this was a big one. I told him I was worried he might lose his dimples, but thankfully they are still there. Dawson LOVES to play his video games, so you can only imagine that he wanted an XBox 360 for his gift! He is a very sweet boy and we all love him so much. We all had a great day together - he wanted a homemade ice cream cake - so thats what he got and I must say - YUMMY!! We love you Dawsie Bear!

Brady turned 12 this year-what a great day he had. We went to lake Powell on his birthday. So he got the best of both worlds~ How cool is it to have birthday cake at home and explore caves in Lake Powell on the same day!!!!

He is a handsome guy and is "sporting" the longer hair style......

Brady was eyeing some Oakley sunglasses for quite some time, so YEP that was his present! We love you so much Brady and are so proud of you-you are such a great kid!

Spring Break - Lake Mead

We had a great spring break vacation....decided to take a road trip to vegas and do some boating on Lake Mead with the Banta's! We had a great time.....played at the pool, showed the kids the big city at night. Lou Lou liked "all the movies playing" on the strip. The boys all did some cliff diving off the rocks and the girls even got in the lake (the water was only 68 degrees....burrr) But the sun helped warm us up. We had a great time, it always feels good to have a last minute getaway!

Yep! Our baby girl is three! She had such a fun day. All she wanted was an Elmo cake and balloons. Until the day before, then she added: presents, dancing dress, and she wanted her "friends" over. I cant believe how fast 3 years has gone....I wish life would slow down sometimes... Oh we love her so much, she brings so much laughter to our home. We love you little "Lou Lou"!

Yes, another year older......Sweet little Sydnee turned Six!!!!! According to her, this was "The best day ever!!!" She had such a fun party and had lots of visitors all day long. Thanks everyone~~ All I could remember was 6 years earlier and how nervous we were that our little baby girl was coming too early. She definately was little at 4 lb 3 oz, but healthy as could be.........I will also never forget that special feeling of "relief". I loved her soooooo much and always do :)
Sydnee loves Taylor Swift so of course we had to play musical chairs to Love Story and have cute diva hats, gloves and microphones. It was fun to be creative to decorate for a Taylor Swift party because NOBODY sells anything Taylor Swift. It turned out really cute though and she loved it!!!!

And of course to top the day off, Grandpa Rick let her practice with her new makeup. Isnt this precious??????

Just returned from a great trip with great friends. Adam got to celebrate his birthday in Mexico - what a treat. This little bird Charlie was giving him all the birthday kisses he could handle....

And then there was "Pinky the Monkey" What a cute little guy he was!

I was pretty proud of this little crab I found, although I found out his pinchers werent that "little" OUCH!
We spent a day at xel-ha snorkling and even got to swim with dolphins~ once in a lifetime experience~ so much fun!!

Our little Sydnee was the star of the show! She did a great job. I often wonder where her outgoing personality came from. Not a titch of shyness in her! We love her So much. She is so excited that she is now an official kindergartener on "summ break"(summer break)

We got to sneek away on a little trip to Moab with some friends. There was a group of 24 of us. It was quite the Rhino, Jeep & Rock Crawler excursion! We had a great time.....lots of scenery, absolutely beautiful and HOT, HOT, HOT (We have the peeling sunburns to prove it, but OH so worth it.) Most of all, INSANE what we do for pleasure! I still cant believe what we were climbing. Our pictures just do not do it justice. You can see the black tire marks that are stained into the rocks from all of the tires. It looked so cool.

Long time no blog...I could have lots of excuses for not posting FOREVER. But, I guess Ill narrow it down to.... Broken Camera!! We have been on the hunt for a new one and Ill just say, I have been LOST without it. Apparently I take a lot of pictures. What can I say? I just dont think my blog posts are as fun without pictures, unless I have something REALLY interesting to say. Which I guess I do.... I am now a mom that works out of the home and really appreciating the fact that I have been able to stay at home for 10 years with my kids. They are growing up right before our eyes and it seems to go faster when you're not with them all of the time, go figure! Maycee is talking like crazy in complete sentences and is so cute always saying "thank you" to everything. She brings lots of laughter to our home. Sydnee is graduating from preschool this week and so excited to be an official kindergartener. Dawson is taking ISATS right now and doing great. He is such a sweet smart boy. Brady is testing also and working on plans for a new treehouse. Adam and I are plugging along like usual trying to adjust to the changes in our lives. Anyone know of a REALLY good daycare????? I am STRESSING out right now:)

I can't believe our baby is growing up so fast. She thinks she has to throw it all at me at once and try and potty train herself too! WOW! She was so cute on her birthday greeting everyone at the door in her T shirt and "panties". She got a cute little puppy dog cake all to herself and loved blowing out the candles about 12 times! She was given lots of cute gifts and loves them all. She really loves babies right now and has been pushing her new baby in her new stroller EVERYWHERE! We love you Lou Lou! Seems like yesterday she just joined the world. I love you Lou Lou my busy little 2 year old!

Here's my babe in Mexico Dove hunting. This is his second annual trip with the guys. The little mexican families really enjoy having them and are very grateful for the doves they "feed" their families. You can see by the picture, they shoot alot of birds, and this is only one small hunt of the week. YUMMY! (not) Im always nervous when he's gone and so glad to have him home safe! Love ya Adam!!

Party Like a Rock Star!

Sydnee (or should I say Hannah) just had her 5th birthday! She is so into Hannah Montana that she literally thinks she is her when she has the "wig" on (Thanks Jada bug!!)! It is so cute to hear her sing her songs. She decided she wanted to have a Hannah Montana party, so we made up cute little CD's with her favorite HM songs and used them as invitations. She had a great birthday thanks to lots of cute friends who shared it with her!

The little Rock Stars played Pin the Guitar on Hannah Montana, had a (very temporary) Rock Star makeover (tatoos, hair glitter and makeup), decorated cute little star boxes and cookies and had a Freeze Dance contest! They all were so cute! I cant believe our little Sydnee is 5!!!!

Oh yah, we also had a "Little bitty" Hannah Montana! She wore one of Sydnee's shirts and it actually looked like a cute little dress. Little sister loved having all the girls over too!

Here Fishy, Fishy.... Me, trying to be crazy and have just a moment to myself in a different room other than my 22 month old Tazmanian Princess, was obviously thinking wrong!!! When I came back into the kitchen (after only 3 minutes MAX) Maycee was up on the counter with the fish net in hand peering down to the floor....."Wheres FISH?" Hmmmm, Yep sure enough, pour fishy is laying lifeless on the Family Room carpet! Thats just a little tidbit and sneak peak of what she is ALWAYS up to! Geesh, I love her:) For the record, I saved Fishys life, for the moment that is....

Hawaii, Sweet Hawaii !!!!!

We just returned from an AWESOME getaway to Hawaii. We had a great time, lots of R&R, much needed I might say..... We were gone for 9 days, the longest we've ever been away from the kids together. Was great to come home to sweet smiling faces so happy to see us!
We did a lot of laying on the beach.........

and watching sunsets on the beach.......... Walking on the beach......
And Playing IN it!. Adam only got rolled a few times by the big waves. The waves were up to 25 FEET when we were there! It was amazing. Adam LOVED it, he and Weston rode the waves until sunset!!!

We had tons of fun! Here are some more sneak peaks at the fun things we did...

Went to a LUA!!! IT WAS AWESOME! If anyone ever goes to Hawaii, this is a MUST! Here is a little video clip of this GORGEOUS Hawaiin girl singing. (Dont forget to pause the music so you can hear her!)I could have listened to her all night...

We Went on a Helicopter Tour of the Island. I was really worried about getting sick, because this helicopter thing was a first for me, but I did pretty good. The views that we saw were just unbelievable. We even flew right through a rainbow! WOW! And saw 1000 feet waterfalls. OH, WE LOVED IT!!!! Our pilot was awesome too, so we had to snag a picture with him.

We went snorkling in the most gorgeous reef and saw all kinds of marine life. This cool kid Nick took us out with some things called SEA ROCKETS. They made you swim really fast through the water while snorkling and you didnt have to kick your fins. You could dive down really fast. It was awesome. Needless to say, it was a lot and great fun, BUT both Steph and I ended up SICKER THAN SICK!!!! It took us a few hours to get feeling better, but was SO WORTH IT!! We visited Pearl Harbor. That was a really neat experience.We visited the popular "North Shore." That was cool to see. ESPN was there getting ready for the surf championships that were last weekend.

Visited the Polynesian Center on the island of Oauhu. We flew over to the island on Thursday and spent the day there doing all the "TOURIST" things. It was a fun day, full of activity.
Visited the "Valley of the Temples" There were all kinds of different temples and sacred burial sites. It was a site to see. This one was our favorite.
Walked through an old volcanoe tube where the lava used to flow. It looked like Jurassic Park all around it. AWESOME!!

Visited Mt. Kilewaeu. Its actually erupting right now. When it got dark you could see the lava shoot up into the air. In the daytime it just looks like smoke. We hiked it through the lava out to the viewing area. That was fun, although the air was full of ash and it was really hard to breath.

There were so many cool things we did. We all had fun and hopefully someday will get to visit the islands again. Here are a few more miscelaneous pix ......

We sure had a great time. Thanks to EVERYONE who helped with the kiddos! We love you!

Sydnee decided she wanted to grow up some more! I dont know how to stop this....can anyone help??? My babies are getting too big! It took her a couple tries and she had it! WOW! She learned on the bumpy dirt, so when we got home to the cement, she was a little intimidated, but after a few tries she got it! Our worry is that the little sweetie loves to lolligag (if thats a word) and look at all the pretty flowers and what is behind her and all around her, so she tends to swirve ALOT!!!! Other than that, she's doing great!

Family Reunion-yes this was clear back in July- Im just trying to catch up!!

Mom, Me and Grandma Shirley.....Our family reunion was in Island Park and conveniently the Reservoir is nearby so we got to enjoy a full day of boating. Even with the grandmas in the boat, we didnt take it easy on them. Our boat holds 15 and it was constantly maxxed out! Not to mention the 3 jet skis that were always running! We all had a great time. We ate and ate and ate, had a pinewood derby, caught frogs, visited, had a raffle, camped, boated, just had FUN FUN FUN!!!
Brady took 1st in the Pinewood Derby! Dawson took 6th. Maycee and Sydnee's were somewhere inbetween there and 26th place, Not the fastest cars but they sure were cute. Syd's was a barbie in a bathtub and Maycees was a pink bug.
The kids had so much fun catching frogs!!!

Bike Rides around the Lake

Our "attempted" nightly bike ride around Rigby Lake...We've been trying to ride our bikes to the lake, around the lake twice and back home. Well, that really is a long ride, especially for little legs. Adam and I both decided we need to do it, so the kids get to come along! Between the boys riding their bikes down the boat ramp into the water and Maycee wanting to pet every dog that passes, we have a few distractions. Not to mention Sydnee's pit stops to pick "beautiful flowers".

Almost home (yes, there were many more stops, just didn't get pictures of ALL of them)...We Made it!!! So much for continuous exercise, OH WELL!!! We sure got some cute flowers.

Adam and I took the boat out for a "midnight boat ride" with a few other couples and their boats. It felt good to have a little time to ourselves. No Maycee falling asleep on us, no kinked knecks from lifejackets, no whining...nothing but the sound of the water, the music, friends and eachother. Something different for a change. We barbecued (thanks SHANE, you're awesome!) then just hung out and cruised the lake in the darkness.

We were amazed how dark it got FAST....If you look close, you can see the full moon at the top and the water reflection on the bottom. That was all we could see. A little freaky, but WOW! It was amazing!

Bear Lake

A large group of us planned a vacation to Bear Lake for the 4th of July this year. What a great time! We had Friends, Family, Fun, and Lots of Sun! We loved it! Brady and Dawson had a great time learning to wakeboard while the water was smooth in the early morning. By noon everyday the waves crashed in~ so we just hung out on the beach. Maycee rolled in and ate lots of sand. She loved the Seagulls. Sydnee and all of her new girlfriends buried themselves to look like mermaids and had a great time playing in the waves and sand. The boys took up a new hobby: Skimboarding. They all lived on their boards. They were pros! GREAT TIMES!!!! We cant wait to go back

Okay, so we have the pickiest kids EVER when it comes to food. We were grilling hot dogs and Sydnee will eat them, but if there is any sight of "black" on them, she wont touch it. So, I accidentaly let them cook a little much (okay, I burned them a little) and she saw the "black stuff", and said Mom, you know I dont like hot dogs with "OUCHIES" on them!

Where's Maycee?

Where's Maycee? I sure say that alot lately. At 15 months old, Maycee has now mastered the stairs and loves to wander up and down, here and there, EVERYWHERE!!!! I can usually hear her little pitter patters when she's done "getting into" whatever shes been doing. She'll usually come and talk her jibber jabber and let me know. She loves to spill Ruby's water and splash in it. She is intrigued by the toilet (YUK!) and, if the door opens to outside, watch out....she'll mow you over to get out there! She is a little daredevil like Dawson was. She stands on her little bike seat, stands on her highchair tray, and tries to climb out of her crib! It is so much fun having little ones ~ They definately keep you smiling!

Hawaiian Lua

Our entire family was in the area and it was also mom and dads 40th anniversary, so we decided what would be more appropriate than to send them to "Hawaii" for the day. We had a family Hawaiin Lua in the park. Grandma Shirley even made it!

It was a perfect day (Luckily ~ It has been raining every other day!)

The Grandkids all wore Grass Skirts and Beachcomber hats. It was a lot of fun. That night we sent mom and dad to the "Hawaii" room at Destinations Inn. And, to end the day.....the grandkids just had to decorate their truck!!!!! Heres mom and dad ~40 years later!!!!!

Well, here goes. This is all new to me, but I've been wanting to do something like this forever. I guess if I dont write our daily experiences down, I might as well type them, right? Its only day 12 of summer and we have already had a great one! We kept it real simple this summer. I guess I should say "I" wasnt wanting to run here there and everywhere all summer, so we actually do not have any sports or scheduled activities. So far......its been GREAT!!! My sister and her family have been here from Iowa the past 2 weeks, so we've been trying to spend time with them as much as we can. My mom and dad had a barbecue last night and with all of us there it is getting pretty crazy. They need a referee for every activity when all the cousins get together. It was a lot of fun! Great times. We ended the evening with a bang when Maycee got ahold of the Childrens Tylenol and got it open and drank it. After we all calmed down and talked to Poison Control, they told us that she had not quite taken the toxic amount and we did not need to take her in!!! But of course, this was at 9:00 and both Adam and I did not dare fall asleep and wanted to keep our eyes on her! So, another long night....But our baby girl is doing great!!!!!!
